Severe Thunderstorm Warning 

... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for Ontonagon and

Gogebic counties until 1245 am EDT/1145 PM CDT/... 

At 1051 PM CDT/1151 PM EDT/... National Weather Service Doppler radar

indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter

size hail... and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. These storms

were located along a line extending from 28 miles south of Grand

Marais to 18 miles north of Bessemer to 13 miles southwest of

Upson... moving east at 60 mph.

In addition... at 1053 PM CDT... a wind gust to 47 mph was reported at 

the Ironwood Airport ahead of these storms.

Ironwood... Ontonagon... Bessemer... Wakefield... Silver City... 

Bergland... Marenisco... Rockland... Bruce Crossing... Mass City... 

Paulding... Watersmeet... Black River Harbor... Copper Peak... Van

Buskirk... Mirror Lake... Thomaston... Lake of The Clouds... Clark Lake

and White Pine.

Severe thunderstorms produce damaging wind in excess of 60 miles per

hour... destructive hail... deadly lightning... and very heavy rain. For

your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your

home or business. Heavy rains flood roads quickly so do not drive

into areas where water covers the Road.
